Memoriam

TUSCALOOSA | Anita Logan Barton, age 81, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at Heiberger United Methodist Church Cemetery with Anita Wilburn and Rev. Jim Waters officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

She is predeceased by her parents Charles Emit and Lucille Johnson Logan.

She has left to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, Aubrey Stewart Barton, Sr.; her daughter, Claire Barton Brock (John): her son, Aubrey Stewart Barton, Jr.; granddaughters, Ashley Brock Caldwell (Trey), Lauren Barton Hinote; three great-grandchildren, Ava Makenzie & Addison Grace Hinote and James Brock Caldwell; two sisters-in-law, Judy Turk Barton and Eleanor Barton Reynolds; and her cousin, Walter Charles Harrison and many other friends and family.

The best wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by so many. From her work at Cahaba Steel, Compass Bank, Lou's Fabric Shop and Barton's Thrift Store she touched many lives outside of her family. Arranging Flowers and needlework was her fun hobby that left us with many art pieces and smocked dresses. She was compassionate and loving and taught that to her children and grandchildren. Most of all she instilled the Love of our Lord in her children from birth. Anita and Aubrey faithfully attended Uniontown United Methodist Church where she did the alter flowers every Sunday. Heaven gained a new angel who has no illness and is basking in the Light of Jesus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to Heiberger United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Uniontown, or a charity of your choice.
