Memoriam

Dorothy L. Ash, 93, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Polk County where she was also a former Sunday school teacher. She was one of the first female weavers at Hardwick Woolen Mill at the beginning of WWII.

Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Moore, Sr. and her second husband, Jacob Ash; two sons, Kirby Moore and Gilbert Moore, Jr.; her parents, Luther P. Green and Mary Isabell Green; one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Stanley Ash and wife, Sherry of Cleveland; two step grandchildren; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Green of New Castle, PA; one sister, Mary Bryson of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Parm officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
