Donald Joe Wheat, age 61, of Demopolis, died May 1, 2015, in Pin Hook Community. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Jeff D. Oates officiating. A private family burial will be held with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Sunday two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Wheat.
Survivors include his wife, Linda B. Wheat; daughter, Melinda Oates (James); sister, Pam Baker (Wayne); brother, John A. Locke; mother, Myrtis Harris; and grandchildren, Jeff D. Oates (Katie) and Alexandria Oates.
Donald was a retired electrician and retired from the Alabama Army National Guard. He was a Master Mason and a member of Demopolis Lodge # 49.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Christian Church of Demopolis, Ala.
