Memoriam

Jessy Alex Childs, 73, a resident of Georgetown, went home to be with his heavenly Father Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Childs was the son of the late Virgil Childs and Nina Mae Brown Childs and was also preceded in death by his brother, William Ray Childs.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Childs; sons, David Childs and wife, Felicia Childs of Charleston and Tim Childs and wife, Darlene Childs of Georgetown; three grandchildren: Matt Childs and wife, Molly of Charleston, Casey Childs of Georgetown, Tiffany Mae Godfrey and husband, Danny of Georgetown; great-granddaughter, Alexis Godfrey; brothers, Thomas Childs and wife, Brenda of Cleveland, Carson Childs and wife, Lou of Cleveland, Alvin Childs and wife, Tammy; sister, Sue Lowe and husband, Carlton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Eldridge and Reverend James Huges officiating. Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the funeral home.
