Memoriam

Thomas Franklin Woods age 88 of Tuscaloosa passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease July 21, 2015 at DCH Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Walker County, Alabama, March 8, 1927 Thomas served in the Army during World W II and the Korean Conflict and Retired from B.F. Goodrich.

He is preceded in death by: parents, Jeanette Wheat and Cain Odell Woods and, wife, Virginia Lee Deavours siblings: Sisters, Ruthie Woods, Ada Swindle, Peggy Trimm, & Louise Martin; brothers, Bill Moore, Bob Moore, Noble Garner, & Sam Moore

Survivors include Children: Jerri Woods Busby (Howard “Buzz” Busby, Jr.), Marilyn Woods Vanderpool (James Vanderpool, Jr.), Thomas Franklin (“Frank”) Woods, Jr. (Kelly Sullivan)
Grandchildren: Howard Wilson (“Tripp”) Busby, III (Lindsay), Gregory Lee Busby (Rebekah), Tammy Powell Willoughby, Jennifer Vanderpool Jordan (Kendall), Thomas Franklin Woods, III, Jonathon Andrew Woods (Pedro Lopez), Meaghan Woods Vencito (Kevin)
Great Grandchildren: Elle, Will, & Evie Busby, Katie Busby Chase, Cole & Jed Busby, Austin & Amber Grace Willoughby, Jaxon Vencito Surviving siblings: Sisters, Ruby Hall, Ellen Jean Koontz, Betty Ann Rogers, and Geraldine Willcutt; brother, Phillip Woods

Funeral services will be held July 25, 2015 Magnolia Funeral Home South 2:00 pm and burial will follow at Memory Hills Garden. Visitation will be Friday July 24, 2015 Magnolia Funeral Home South from 6-8 pm.

Pallbearers will be Howard Wilson Busby, III, Kendall Jordan, Jonathon Woods, Thomas Woods, III, Pedro Lopez, James Vanderpool, Jr., Howard Busby, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. John Warren, Nurses and staff of 6th floor center, Domino Buddies at B.F. Goodrich Union Hall

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or your favorite charity.
