Memoriam

Robert G. Anderson, 73, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2015. He was retired from Cooke’s Food Store after 35 years of service. He was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louvina (Roy) Faulkner; father, Frank Anderson, Jr.; brothers: Willard Anderson and Frank Anderson; sisters: Margaret Malone and Martha Williams.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce Carolyn Anderson; one son, Robert (Connie) Anderson of Cleveland; one daughter, Penny (Jeff) Bivens of Benton; three granddaughters, Brandy (Michael) George of Cleveland, Jamie (Kevin) McSpadden of Benton, and Amanda Shepard of McMinnville; two grandsons: Timothy (Lacy) Bivens of Benton and Robert Anderson, Jr. of Cleveland; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Charles Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Robert Anderson, Jr., Timothy Bivens, Kevin McSpadden, Michael George will serve as pallbearers. Mike Anderson and Ronnie Parker will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Philippi Baptist Church.
