Memoriam

Walter Donald Dockery, Sr., age 79, of Northport, died at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gillie C. and Flana Dockery; brothers, Willie B. Dockery, George Dockery, Reverend Carl Dockery; sisters, Louise Geer and Wilma Fondern; and granddaughter, Victoria Dockery.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Sexton Dockery; daughters, Judy Dockery Fleet, Lisa Dockery, Janet McCracken (Ron), Karol Whitehead (Max); son, Donny Dockery (Cathy); sister, Minerva Tatum; brothers, Harvey Dockery (Bonnie), Gillie Dockery (Dot), and Dawson Dockery (Katie); grandchildren, Angelica Fleet McDuff (Al), Daniel Fleet, Josh McCracken, Kyle McCracken (Jennifer), Alexis Roberts, and Trey Dockery; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Matthew, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Grace and Emmeline McDuff and Kylie McCracken.

Mr. Dockery retired from Alabama Power Company. His favorite pastime was playing dominoes with his domino buddies. His rock and saving grace was his wife of 60 years, \"Honey.\"
He enjoyed being with his family and would have done anything in his power for any one of them. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Fleet, Ronald McCracken, Max Whitehead, Josh McCracken, Kyle McCracken and Al McDuff.

Honorary pallbearers are his domino buddies, Tommie Ingram, Reggie Smith and James Garner; friends and neighbors, past employees of Alabama Power Company and members of Northport Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those donations are made to Northport Baptist Church General Fund.
