Memoriam

TUSCALOOSA | Ruth Gardner Vinson, age 97, of Tuscaloosa, died December 17, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. John Drawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Vinson.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janice V. Griffin and Mary V. Hines (Al); two sons, William B. Vinson (Sally) and James P. Vinson (Cheryl); four grandsons; six granddaughters; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a special loving kind of person who had a love for life and family. She was well loved by her family.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite, friends and neighbors at Pine Valley, Dr. William Hill, staff at Hospice of West Alabama, and special caregivers, Tonya Henry, Evelyn Isaac and Delois Travis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
