Memoriam

Funeral services for Mable Harrison Tharpe, 89, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tharpe passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at her daughter‘s home.

She was born on March 15, 1926 in Yalobusha County and was the daughter of the late Esker Benford Harrison and Mable Chapman Harrison.

Mable was employed by Pennaco Hosiery Mill for 20 years and by Gordon’s Department Store for about 15 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada.

Mable was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thaddeus J. Tharpe; four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Tharpe Barnett (Robert) of Navarre, Florida and Brenda Tharpe Brown (Early) of Grenada; one son, James David Tharpe (Carol) of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Shane Brown, Dawn Marascalco, Amanda Brown, Carly Mixon, Kelly Thornburg, Matthew McMahon and Thomas McMahon; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
