Victoria (Vicky) Lynne Tims Fretwell, age 52, died April 15, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. A memorial service will be held April 20, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Five Points Baptist Church Christian Life Center.
Vicky was born June 9, 1962, at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida and was the daughter of James West and Edna Ripple Tims. She called Norfolk, Virginia her home for most of her childhood before moving to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and starting her own family in 1987. She became a very important part of the insurance industry in the Tuscaloosa area and was loved and admired by many friends as well as customers. She was employed at State Farm (Sherry Jones), BR Agency (Tom Deas), and Fitts Agency (Forrest Fitts). Her ashes are to be memorialized into a coral reef off the coast of Pensacola, Fla. in the fall.
She was preceded in death by her father, James West Tims; and her grandparents, Floyd and Gladys Tims and Walter and Helen Ripple.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Fretwell; three daughters, Amanda, Jessica, and Emily Fretwell, all of Tuscaloosa; mother, Edna Tims and brother, Jerry Tims, both from Norfolk; in-laws, Ken and Loretta Fretwell; as well as many other loving family members and close friends.
Honorary pallbearers are all her friends at the Fitts Agency, Phifer Inc., Dr. Gross, nurses at DCH, the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH Regional Medical Center, and Hospice of West Alabama.
