Memoriam

Funeral services for Billy C. Ward, 77, of Grenada, are at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at National Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Holcomb.

Visitation is Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Billy died Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home in Grenada.

He was born on January 30, 1938 and was the son of the late Joe Ward and the late Alla May Payne of Holcomb. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mary Hicks Ward, three sisters, Daisy Tilghman, Dorothy Absher and Opal Shields; two brothers, Joe C. Ward and Freddie Ward.

Billy was self-employed and owner/operator of Ward Plumbing and Electric . He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and a lifetime member of the Gore Springs MS Hunting Dog Association. Billy loved his grandchildren, hunting and fishing but had a great love for people in general.

Billy is survived by three daughters; Lisa Ward Tilghman of Hattiesburg, Debbie Ward Busby (Randy) of Texas and Donna Ward Woods (Tommy) of Grenada; One son: Joe Ward (Gloria) of Grenada; seven grandchildren; Brandon Ward, Chris Rocha, Nic Tilghman, Tori Ward, Blake Guinn, Nikki Woods and Amber Guinn. One Great-grandchild; Emma Grace Rocha and two brothers; Doug Ward and Roy Ward.

Pallbearers are Brandon Ward, Chris (Chrisser) Rocha, Blake Guinn, Nicholas (Nic) Tilghman, Ken Arbuckle and Devin Livingston. Honorary pallbearers are, Charles Ashley, James Blount and Ray Harper and any member of the Pearidge Squirrel Camp and the Gore Springs Hunting Club.
