Joseph (Joe) Lee Nelson, 32, of Charleston, TN passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 in San Dimas, CA. Joe was a 2001 graduate of Meigs County High School. He was proudly employed as a electrical Journeyman Lineman (an accomplishment he worked very hard for) with IBEW Local 175. Joe loved living on the river, being outdoors and hanging out with his family, friends and his dog, Murray.
Joe is survived by his wife, Marcy Pope Nelson; his daughter, Victoria (Vicky) Pope, both of Charleston; his parents, Ernest and Wanda Ballew Nelson; his sisters, Cindy (Robin) Smith, Sandra (Shelton) McCullough; brothers, Johnny (Karen) Harwood, Brad Harwood and Eddie (Mechelle) Nelson; grandparents, Robert and Cora Nelson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Faye Pope; brother-in-law, Jason (Susan Marie) Pope; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Murray; and all of his brotherhood in the IBEW.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 4 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15 at the funeral home.
