Funeral services for Barry Steven Hanks, age 56, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Owensby and Bro. Bennie Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
Barry died Monday, April 20, 2015 in Calhoun County as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born on May 9, 1958 in Grenada and was the son of James Franklin Hanks and the late Betty Jean Scarbrough Hanks.
Barry was employed by Terminix as a service technician. He attended Faith Fellowship Church and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the U.S. Golf Association. Barry loved golfing, fishing, hunting and sports. He loved is wife and grandchildren dearly and loved his dog, Lucky.
Barry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Teresa O‘Bryant Hanks of Grenada; three sons, Jeremy O‘Bryant of California, Eric Steven Hanks (Amanda) of Grenada and Mathew Glenn Hanks of Denver, Colorado; father, Benny Hanks of Senatobia; two sisters, Cheryl Lambert of Houston, Texas and Gayle Goodson of Grenada; one brother, Mark Hanks of Texas; and three grandchildren, Jordan O‘Bryant, Jonah Steven Hanks and Silas O‘Bryant.
