George Howard Saffles, 74, a resident of Cleveland and a former resident of Florida, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at the family residence. He was a retired police officer for Bradley County and was a member of the Faternal Order of Police. Mr. Saffles was the son of the late George Saffles, Sr. and Noreen Willard Saffles and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tina N. Miller and his brother, R.D. “Cub” Saffles. He is survived by his wife, Deanna McCoy Saffles of Cleveland; two children: Kimberly Varner and husband, Michael, and Carrie Bilbao and husband, Steve all of Cleveland; son-in-law, Bruce Miller of Cleveland; four granchildren: Renie Crabson, Holly Jo Miller, Analise Bilbao, and Ethan Bibao; one sister, Caroline Thompson of Etowah and one brother, Glenn Saffles and wife, Naomi of Cleveland; nieces: Karen Slater, Maunette Saffles and Angela Holloway all of Cleveland; nephews: Doug Saffles, Greg Saffles and Tony Saffles all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Varner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Steve Bilbao, Tony Saffles, Ron Slater, David Williams, Billy Phillips, and Lawerence Cotton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Saffles. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
