NORTHPORT | Cecil Ray Davis, age 81, of Northport, died February 16, 2015, at home. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Memory Hill Gardens with Bro. Ed Stillman officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 59 years, wife, Martha D. Davis; mother, Clister; father, Pete Davis; brother, Billy Davis; and grandson, Eddy Clanton Jr.
He is survived by daughters, Emmie Clanton (Jimmy), Tammie Scarbrough (John), and Rita Clanton (Eddy); son, C.W. Davis (Ann); brother, Ted Davis; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was born August 30, 1933, in the Lexington Community. He was retired from B.F. Goodrich and in his days of good health, enjoyed camping with his wife, Martha. He was also proud of his home-grown tomatoes, and loved to deliver them to friends and neighbors.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nelson, Justin Davis, Michael Clanton, Cody Clanton, Jody Scarbrough, and Wes Scarbrough.
Honorary pallbearers are New Hope Baptist Church, Dr. Gene Alldredge, Cindy Gallegos, Dr. William Hill, Dr. Pedro Lopez, James and Doris Elkins, Charlie and Shirley Mitchum, Tuffy and Pat Boyd, Amedisys Hospice, and Sobcon Concrete Co., Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church or Amedisys Hospice of Tuscaloosa.
