Memoriam

DUNCANVILLE | Rev. Carl Clinton Dockery, age 86, of Duncanville, died February 4, 2015, at home. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Ed King officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Saturday two prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Stamps Dockery; his parents, G.C. Dockery and Flana Dockery; brothers, Willie B. Dockery and George J. Dockery; and sisters, Louise Geer, Wilma Fondren and Lula Dockery.

Survivors include his daughters, Karla Parmelee (Glenn) of Longview, Texas, Rachel Crumpler (Mitch) of Helena and Paulette Glasscock (Todd); sister, Minerva Tatum; brothers, Harvey Dockery, Donald Dockery, Gillie Dockery and Dawson Dockery; grandchildren, Carson Parmelee, Graham Parmelee, Beth Crumpler, Cameron Crumpler, Luke Glasscock, Hannah Glasscock, and Grace Glasscock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was born January 31, 1929 in Tuscaloosa County. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High in 1947. He graduated from Howard College where he received a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts. He also received a Master's of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1955, he married Greta Stamps. Carl pastored churches in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma for 60 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He loved gardening, music, laughter, loved people and cherished family. Carl was a loving and faithful servant of God and a special man to all whose lives he touched.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Dockery, Dawson Dockery, Gillie Dockery, Donald Dockery, Glenn Parmelee, Mitch Crumpler and Todd Glasscock.

Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and former congregations. Special thanks to caregivers, Doris Marx, Terri Crocker, and Martha Hollingsworth.
