Obituary Notice

Funeral services for Richard Eugene “Mack” McLaughlin, 80, of Grenada, MS, are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the National Funeral Home Chapel . Burial will follow in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County.

Visitation is Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home.

Mack died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home.

He was born on May 22, 1935 and was the son of the late Chester Levell McLaughlin and Alpha Omega Martin McLaughlin of Minden, Louisiana.

Mack was the owner and operator of Mack‘s Music Store. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was inducted into the Gore Springs Music Hall of Fame in 2011. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mack was the love of Kathleen’s life for 59 years.

Mack is survived by his wife Kathleen Hood McLaughlin of Grenada; two daughters, Phoebe McLaughlin Clark (Ronnie) and Dewana McLaughlin Staten (Mike) both of Grenada; two sons, Ralph Eugene McLaughlin (Elaine) of Grenada and Louie Levell McLaughlin (Sharon) of Cordova, Tennessee; three sisters, Lillie Mae Hutto of Delhi, Louisiana, Dorothy Eva “Dee“ Phillips of Siloam, Arkansas and Emily Jean Lowry of Hallfield, Texas; one brother, John Wesley “Johnny“ McLaughlin of Hallfield, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Tessa Easley (Michael), Paige McLaughlin, Megan Bennett (Paul), Tiffany Smith (Drew), Ricky Clark (Megan), Stephanie Reynolds (William), Lindsey Harville (Jonathan), Chai Jones, Kathy Clark, Kelsey McLaughlin and Hallie Staten; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Doris E. McLaughlin and Hazel Annette Tucker; four brothers, Cecil Chester McLaughlin, Jack Levell McLaughlin, Sammie L. McLaughlin and George David McLaughlin; and one grandson, Eric McLaughlin.

Bro Brent Barker will officiate the services and the grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Singers will include Jimmy Hood, Ricky Mabry, Bro. Brent Barker, Barry Worrell and Eugene Heimbach.
